Amy (Rochill Amy)

  • History:   Amy is another Australian girl from Greyhounds as Pets, New South Wales.  She arrived in Dallas on January 29, 2025, after a 15-hour flight from Sydney, and TAGS picked her up on January 30, 2025.    Amy has been fully vetted.  Amy was one of an 11-pup all-black litter of Bewildering, sire, and Rochill Kate, dam, registered on Greyhound Data.  She ran 53 races (7 of which she won) from December 29, 2021 until November 26, 2023.  Since that time she has been living in a kennel or run in Australia awaiting her retirement in the U.S. 
    Amy is said by her Australian handlers to be a delightful, fun-loving Greyhound with a personality as sunny as her smile. She apparently likes to splash in the pool on hot days.  She attended some events in Australia and was a social butterfly, enjoying pets from people and soaking up all the attention.  Amy would love to have another large dog that shares her energy and zest for life.  Amy can also benefit from additional leash training.
    Amy made a good impression on her first day with TAGS.  Upon first meeting Amy, she was friendly and engaging.  She posed for a few photos before getting in the vehicle.   She rode very well in the car (with a little help jumping in), sleeping most of the way, but occasionally taking in the sights.    The fosters have a pool so we will see how that goes (glad the weather is going to be warm for a while). Amy has already started the walking routine with her housemates on day one.  We hope Amy continues to be a happy girl in her foster home with two other (female) Greyhounds.  
    Amy has a thick black coat (a considerable farm coat) with a little dusting of white on her face and white toes.   We can't wait for you to meet her!!   We will update Amy's bio after she is more settled!
