Freddy (Ultimate Display)
- Date Received: February 29, 2024
- Birth date: June 14, 2018
- Adopted: April 21, 2024
History: Freddy is another Aussie Greyhound coming to TAGS from Greyhounds as Pets, New South Wales, Australia. He arrived in the U.S. on February 28, 2024 after a 15-hour flight from Sydney and had an overnight comfort stop at a pet hotel before being picked up by a TAGS volunteer on February 29, 2024. Freddy has been completely vetted. His dam is Magic Display and his sire is Fernando Bale (whose grandsire was the famous U.S. stud, Gable Dodge). According to Greyhound-Data, Freddy raced 116 races between February, 2020 and September, 2022.
The handlers at Greyhounds as Pets said Freddy is well behaved around a small Italian Greyhound and is good with children (10 and above and may also be suited to younger children). Freddy has gotten a taste of pet life and loves sleeping in the house. He has been an excellent house guest. He can also navigate stairs. He is said to be very social and loves to go for walks.
Freddy “loaded” into the vehicle on his own but was a little unsure of riding in the backseat. He did settle down and slept most of the way home. After meeting the two Greyhounds in his foster home (and getting a quick nail trim) he was ready for a nap. He is a very handsome long-legged fawn boy, with eye liner, a dark muzzle and darkish ears. His back feet are white and there is a little white on his front feet. He has a long, narrow head and a slight frame. In Australia, his weight was a little low for his size. TAGS will try to put a few pounds on his lanky frame. Once he settles into his new environment he will be ready to find his forever home.
February 29, 2024 update: Freddy came from Australia to TAGS for a life of retirement and to find his loving lifetime home.
