Payton (XT's Paladin)

  • History:   Payton is an NGA U.S. bred Greyhound.  He is a young boy that did not race, but he is registered on Greyhound-Data. His dam is CBJ Stargazer and his sire is Superior Panama.
    Payton has a beautiful, thick red brindle coat and a striking appearance, with beautiful eyes and a dark muzzle. He also has very expressive ears.  Payton is an average-sized boy. His breeder said he was picked on as a puppy by the other dogs, so he is a little skittish around rowdy dogs. He is initially in a foster home with two male Greyhounds and seems to be adjusting well.  At times he seems to want to initiate contact with the other dogs but is not sure how to go about it. He loves people but may take a minute to warm up. He needs some home experience in order to gain trust.  
    He slept well his first night (exhaustion will do that) and seems less anxious after a good night's sleep.  Petting gives him reassurance from humans and he is slowly starting to seek it out. You can tell he has been a kennel dog and is figuring out what everything is in the house and yard - by poking his nose into everything. He has already shown some interest in toys.
