Splash (Bob's Splash)
- Date Received: January 17, 2014
- History: Splash splashed around the racing circuit from February 2008 until the end of January, 2010, racing at both Wheeling Downs and VictoryLand. Her career, although spanning more than 70 races, was unremarkable. However, her pedigree is remarkable. Her sire is Dodgem By Design, making her grandsire Gable Dodge. Splash’s dam, Bob’s Fraschilla, was a pup of the famous Irish Greyhound, Fortress. Splash was kept at the farm after her racing retirement to be a brood matron, but it is not known at this time if she whelped any pups. If she did they are not registered with Greyhound-Data. She is past her breeding prime so it is time for her to have a prime sofa. Check her out. She might be just the one for your sofa.
See Greyhound-Data.com for more information.
Splash with a stuffie toy!
Splash in her forever home with her mom, Missy and greyhound sister, Gaby!
March 6, 2015 update: Splash went to the Rainbow Bridge today. She is greatly missed by her mom, Missy.
April 27, 2014 update: Splash has found her forever home and has a greyhound sister named Gaby to play with and enjoy retirement with. Congrats to all.
February 4, 2014 update: Splash has discovered and fallen in love with stuffies. It would be an overstatement to say she gives them tender love and care but she certainly gives them plenty of attention. Toys go for backflips and somersaults through the air! It's fun to watch Splash play because she really enjoys it.
She's been our guest for almost two weeks and after the first few days, settled in completely. No accidents whatsoever, loves to have a bit of attention and needs only a soft bed. Splash has a lot of spunk and personality. She'll make some family a greyt companion.
January 18, 2014 update: Splash settled down fairly quickly after she got home and met the other Greyhounds. She has already staked her claim to one specific dog bed in the den and one in the bedroom. She is not used to other dogs being so close when she is lying on a bed, but she will relax after she has been here for a while. She seems to know her name – at least she looks at you when you say “Splash.” Her thighs are bald and she has dry skin but that will change with better nutrition and a soft place to sleep. She has a beautiful face – big chocolate brown eyes and the cutest ears ever. Her left ear flops forward and the other ear operates independently. She has a sweet disposition. I can’t wait until her “house personality” develops more.
January 17, 2014 update: Splash came to TAGS to find her loving lifetime home.
