- History: This adorable brindle girl made a determined effort on the racing circuit. In only 25 races, she ran 8 stakes races and several AA races. However, her last five races proved that she didn’t have the long term determination, and she was no factor in any of these races. She hung up her racing silk in favor of being a brood. She had her one and only litter of pups recently and now only wants a fluffy bed to herself with no more responsibilities. She will now learn all there is to know about living in a home as a companion dog instead of a racing dog. She’s of greyt breeding stock (Molotov and Wigwam Wag) so we know where she gets her good looks.
See Greyhound-Data.com for more information.
Her days are very routine and she prefers them that way. She likes to eat right when the alarm goes off and if the humans aren't up, she'll put her cold nose on the first face she can find. She will nudge you and even put her paws up on the bed to signal "feed me!". During the day, Sugar likes to be out where the action is. She will find a dog bed, in front of the fire preferably, or right up next to your feet if you're on the couch. She'd really like to be on the couch, but she is a very good listener and responds with a quick "Down!" She LOVES treats and is very food motivated. She'll do anything for a treat and since she's on the skinny side, we give her quite a few! Sugar has not had an accident after the first week of being in a home. She will pace and whimper when she needs to go potty. She enjoys being outside and loves to play ball in the backyard. Sugar is one fast dog! Leash walking is a breeze for her and she'd be a great walking partner.
Sugar prefers to be around other greyhounds, they make her feel more secure. She will follow the other girls wherever they go. She lives with 2, 15 pound Italian Greyhounds and doesn't seem to notice they're there. Additionally, she ignores the cat and seems to not even notice he's around.
We just adore this lovable, affectionate, beautiful greyhound and you will, too.
